His remarks will highlight efforts to strengthen disaster recovery programs, expand market opportunities, safeguard private property rights, and advance tax reform. Through these priorities, FLA is working to ensure the long-term viability and stewardship of private forestlands.

Flash Session - Emerging Market Opportunities for Forest Landowners Part 2 Biochar Opportunities for Forest Landowners and Consultants Presented by Darren McAvory, Forestry and Wildland Resources Specialist, Utah State University Extension Forest management is increasingly becoming carbon management as emerging carbon markets offer new incentives for forest carbon and soil management. Woody residue that has long been considered a liability in forest management is becoming an economic asset. This presentation will focus on recent updates in the world of biochar for landowners, particularly as a non-timber revenue source, as well as provide information on how ACF consulting foresters can advise their clients with regard to biochar.
